Woody the Safety Bloke shares his love/hate relationship with the Pressure Washer.
Good day everyone, Woody here, hey one of the things about getting around using a wheelchair is that I try and be as independent as possible, you know, I’ve tried to do as much as I can around the house, I don’t like to have to ask people to help me. I hate being pushed in my wheelchair, you know, unless it’s really necessary. I won’t allow anyone to push me, I like to get around using my own sort of capabilities.
And around the house, I can do a lot of things, you know, a bit of sweeping, I use a blower to blow leaves, I like to wash my cars where possible. I mean I said in a previous Woody’s Words, I sometimes have to pay people to do things for me but you know whenever I’ve got to do a bit of pressure washing or you know spray the mud off the cars, I like to try and do it myself but you know there’s one piece of equipment that really pisses me off and that’s this thing, the pressure washer because it’s just so bloody awkward to try and move from one place to another.
I just wanted to show you how I have to do it. I mean it’s got a handle here and for you to use it, you just walk beside it and pull it along but you know because I get around in this thing, that makes it a little bit harder so I normally just have to pull it backwards just bit by bit, you know, down to where I’m going to and it does take a fair bit of effort.
So yeah there you go, you know, just little things like that, you know, I drop that thing a couple of times and you know you ought to hear me swear when I do that. So anyhow just to give you a bit of an idea of how hard it is to move things around, a wheelbarrow, can’t use a wheelbarrow at all, oh man I can’t hold onto the handles and try and push the thing as well, so yeah that’s something else for you to think about, I’m Woody, see you next time, stay safe Australia.
