Woody’s Words – Week 12 – What skills would be wasted?

Woody's Words

Woody the Safety Bloke talks about what skills you have that may never be able to used again.

How you doing, Woody again, listen do you have any skills or talents or just things that you enjoy doing and that you’re good at and have a think about what it’d be like if all of a sudden you couldn’t do some of these things anymore.

I mean I’m a mechanic or a diesel fitter by trade so I’ve got the skills and the training to fix things but because of my injury, I just can’t use those skills especially not in a business or a professional way so I get a little bit frustrated at having to ask people to do things that I should be able to do for myself.

I mean I had a whole heap of cars before I had my accident that I totally rebuilt from the ground up, you know, motor, transmission, I do the interiors, I can’t do some of these things anymore and you know it does get to me sometimes. Now I have to ask mates to help me, my family sometimes, you know to do some of the things that I should be able to do for myself.

So yeah, it’s a whole change of lifestyle and change of way that you just can’t do some of the things you should be able to do. Don’t get hurt, it’ll change your life. I’m woody, see you next time.
