Woody’s Words – Week 42 – Keeping off the Kilos

Woody's Words

Woody the Safety Bloke talks about exercise and how important it is.

Hey everyone, Woody again, hey listen one of the things that I’ve got to put a little bit more effort into is my health and my fitness and there’s probably a couple of different reasons for it. I mean the first reason is I like to stay independent and I want to stay independent for as long as possible. I mean I don’t want to get into my sixties and my 70s and have to have someone push me around in my wheelchair, I want to be fit enough and physical enough to be able to do it for myself but the second reason is that the more weight that I put on, the more weight I have to lift in and out of the car, lift on and off the toilet, lift in and out of bed so I force myself to exercise.

I mean some days I wake up and the last thing I want to do is spend half an hour or an hour on my bike but I force myself to do it because I know that in the long term it’s going to be better for me so yeah the health side of things, it’s probably something that I’ve got to put a little bit more effort into because of the fact that I get around in a wheelchair so yeah getting hurt, it certainly changes your focuses and makes you think about the future, anyhow I’m Woody, stay safe Australia.
