House Keeping

We are building a house at the moment, we subdivided a block of land and we are building a rental property on it. So we are dealing with builders, carpenters, roofers, electricians, plasterers and all the other trades required to build a building.

I’m so disappointed at the state of the building site! It’s an absolute pig sty. They leave off cuts and excess materials lying around, there is a bin overflowing and they just throw empty drink containers, lunch wrappers and chip packets on the ground when they are finished with them.
I watched some tradies the other day have to climb and step over offcuts of plaster that were just lying on the ground.

It got me thinking that this can’t be a safe workplace.

I have raised my concerns with the building supervisor and he is coming out for a meeting so I can show him and hopefully get him to clean it up a bit.

For those of you who work in areas where there is waste as part of your job, try and leave a few minutes each day to clean up and remove some of the trip hazards and obstacles around your work area.
