This was my week visiting most of the Melbourne CHEP pallet & container sites.
I love it when a business commits to the safety of its employees by showing them the real impact of getting hurt while doing their job.
That is what CHEP Australia decided to do for their people last week during their National Safety week.
In January this year, we met with CHEP Australia to discuss a series of site visits across the business. We discussed the message they wanted to share with their people and the takeaways that they would like their workers to consider.
To ensure that everyone received the same messages at the same time, I presented during the day and late at night for the afternoon and night shifts.
Delivering the information took a considerable effort but the positive feedback from attendees was worth it. Many people thanked me and said it would change their thoughts about safety.
I always enjoy the feedback, especially when someone tells me it will change a habit or an action that could lead to them getting hurt.
I’d like to express my gratitude to Danni Anesbury for sitting in on all of the sessions and looking after me. I’d also like to thank CHEP Australia for the initiative and for giving your people the time to listen to me.
Stay Safe Australia!
